Naga News : Manipur Transporters Damage Nagaland Vehicles |

A day after Naga students temporarily lifted their over 60-day economic blockade of two highways in Manipur, Transporters Council of Manipur activists today damaged two goods vehicles coming from Dimapur in Nagaland on a National Highway in Imphal West district, police said.

Following government’s assurance for necessary cancellation and rectification of its earlier job advertisement, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) today decided to shelve ultimatum served to state government. The federation had served ultimatum to the state government demanding cancellation and rectification of the recent government job advertisement.

Incessant rain has created destruction in parts of Kohima and Mokokchung with reports of landslides and road damages.

NSCN (I-M), general secretary, Th Muivah today said reconciliation was necessary and that he was ready for talks for reconciliation anytime with other Naga groups.
“According to the commitment we have made, any time we are prepared to meet and talk with Khaplang, Khole and those who are still remaining uncommitted,” Muivah said while talking to media persons on the sidelines of the public reception on his arrival at Jotsoma village community Hall Wednesday afternoon.

FGN has accused NSCN (I-M) general secretary, Th. Muivah of violating the Covenant of Reconciliation by way of deploying armed cadres openly in the name of security measures.
