Guwahati, Aug. 23: The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (Neepco) today presented Nagaland with what it claims to be the “longest Bailey bridge in the country” that would cater to five districts in the hill state.

Mangmetong (Mkg) | July 21 : Expressing deep resentment over the action of the 9th Assam Rifles in the destruction of a historical monument in the village on July 9, the Mangmetong Village Council today declared that it would pursue the matter with the personnel of the 9th Assam Rifles stationed at Mokokchung till the end. The council declared that it would go ahead with the construction of the monument and that the youths of Mangmetong village are willing to sacrifice to defend their rights and liberty.

Naga News : ‘Reconciliation at the highest level’ |

Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): General Secretary of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim Th Muivah has used the platform provided during his visit to Pughoboto in Zunheboto district to come out with some significant statements. During the course of a marathon interactive public meeting held with the Sumi public, Muivah emphasized the fact that reconciliation will be worked out at the highest level. According to a report filed by the Information Desk of the Ato Kilonser’s Office, Muivah also pointed out that the ban of Sumi Hoho was not done against the Sumi community but it was an “issue based decision against the wrong leadership”.

NSCN (I-M), general secretary, Th Muivah today said reconciliation was necessary and that he was ready for talks for reconciliation anytime with other Naga groups.
“According to the commitment we have made, any time we are prepared to meet and talk with Khaplang, Khole and those who are still remaining uncommitted,” Muivah said while talking to media persons on the sidelines of the public reception on his arrival at Jotsoma village community Hall Wednesday afternoon.

FGN has accused NSCN (I-M) general secretary, Th. Muivah of violating the Covenant of Reconciliation by way of deploying armed cadres openly in the name of security measures.
